Twice a year, the Small, Rural, Tribal and Border Regional Center (SRTB-RC)–a Public Safety program operated by The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, Ky.–hosts the Rural Law Enforcement Technology Institute. The Institute is a forum for police chiefs, sheriffs, and command officers from small and rural departments to come together to share solutions to everyday issues common among departments. The event is also a forum to inform participants on programs and services beneficial to them through the National Institute of Justice’s National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) System.
