SRTBRC has purchased three low cost (under $20,000) firearms systems. These systems have been provided to three small/rural agencies for evaluation. The systems will be rotated between the agencies throughout the duration of the evaluation. After the evaluation period, each department will have had the opportunity to utilize each system.
The goal of the project is to demonstrate the availability and affordability of low cost use of force simulations training technology for use in small and rural law enforcement agencies.
Following an advertised request for quote an the receipt of three qualifying responses, SRTBRC purchased systems from IES, AIS, and Ti Training. Two officers from three departments were trained on each of the systems in early 2009. The three departments participating in the evaluation are: Ripon Police Department, CA; Cass County Sheriff’s Office, NE; and Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, SC.
